The XR is going on 5 years now. The battery likely has to be replaced.

iPhone will never be discontinued. What may change is the form factor and that’s it.

Battery technology is limited and if you want a phone that can more than comfortably get you through a full day and even two days the Plus or Max phones are for you.

I’d at least wait til iOS 17 is announced to see if it improves on what you want. Otherwise some people are better off on android.

No, the battery will have to be replaced though. Also some apps over the years have minimum requirements. Expect to get an easy 6 years of use if not longer.

Indexing has nothing to do with CPU power. It’s all about optimizing a users restore with the updated OS, recompiling new and old data files to ensure smooth operation this process no matter how fast a CPU does indeed take time. Indexing has and always will be a thing, it’s been proven time and time again and can take from a day to roughly a week depending on how large a restore the user is coming from or if the device is setup as new.

You just got it. Give it a few days to finish indexing up to a week. It’s should be a much faster phone overall. If within a weeks time it isn’t resolved have it replaced.

You seem very confused dude. The guys clearly explaining OLED iPhones have the feature while LCD equipped phones do not. What reason would apple randomly remove the feature from certain phones. Makes no sense.

The XR has the A12 chip so same as the XS. X had the A11. The battery being replaced could resolve most of the issues OP faces, could get another 2 if not more years out of the phone.
