There was an old tv show called Sliders. The special effects were ass at the time but I think done today could be a fun show.
It was about some science student who made a portal in his basement that sucks him his gf and his professor into different dimensions. Each episode they find themselves in an alternate reality and they’re just trying to find their way back to their own reality.
They had some interesting episodes, like one where the whole world was quarantined cuz of some Illness and restaurants served food that was prepackaged. Or the reality where the USA is a communist state and their money was red etc.
