I’m willing to bet No Man’s Sky for Mac/iPad will launch alongside this and that it’ll have VR support for Apple’s headset. No way they supported porting efforts for one of the best VR titles just so they can have another Mac/iPad game. They want a big title to launch the new headset with.

I’d say every flashback serves a purpose. Yes, it likes to repeat a lot of themes, but the flashbacks tend to be important to either plot or character development. Sometimes both. There are a lot of character actions and behaviors that would make little sense without the flashbacks. This story is not nearly as much about what’s happening in the moment in the games as it is about the characters. Who they are now, who they were before, and who they will become. Early on in the show I get how they might seem pointless, but as the show goes on I think the purpose of the flashbacks becomes more and more clear.

Someone on Twitter did the math and with the odds of winning at $1B it’s actually rational to buy 3 powerball tickets. No more, no less. Every lottery would have some threshold where it’s rational to buy 1 ticket based on the odds of winning and jackpot amount. Those people certainly aren’t doing the math, though.

Certainly. Though for now I imagine this is super useful for making background objects that don’t really need to look amazing or have good topology. Anything that’s not the main focus of a scene doesn’t really need that much effort. This will just let artists spend more of their time where it’s most impactful for the overall scene.
