Removes them from your account and possibly from the server depending on how the server is set up. Some email services might keep copies of email correspondence on their server for a set amount of time before fully deleting them, some will just delete them as soon as you hit "Delete" from your trash folder.

There have been a few iterations of a show called Jonny Quest. With today's CGI capabilities a live action version of that could be pretty dope.

Reply to ELI5: How do different humans like and dislike different food and drinks if we’re all the same biologically? by nathanthemidget123

Genetically we are different. We do not all have the same number of taste buds or concentration of taste buds, so something that tastes just sweet enough for one person might taste too sweet or not sweet at all for another person. Some people have tolerances for spicy foods and enjoy the flavor of spicy peppers, some people think it's all just really hot and burning their mouth and don't find any flavor there at all. Some people can't taste certain things at all (like that meme about people thinking Cilantro tastes like soap).

We have different upbringings and exposures to different things. Your neighbor might really enjoy pancakes and syrup because it was a rare treat that brings back fond childhood memories. You might hate it because you ate Eggos every day growing up and you got burned out on it.

It means the person hasn't tried it before, but they enjoyed it, and would do it again.
For instance, if a person never went skydiving and then they went skydiving and really liked it, "they could get used to it" - they would do it again in the future, perhaps even as a hobby.

Reply to Eli5: Why can’t Google shut down Anonymous’s YouTube channel or track them and have them arrested? by thefreshlycutgrass
Google (well, Alphabet) owns YouTube. They have 100% control over what is allowed to be uploaded and what is removed, because it is on their servers. So they can remove whatever they want. But if the content is not violating the rules they have no reason to remove it.

Reply to comment by WeDriftEternal in ELI5: Why does a single franchise change directors so much? Wouldn’t it be better to have the save director for every movie? by cute_brute
For the time consideration there's also the practical aspect of it. Movies like in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are being filmed at a really fast rate with overlapping filming and production timelines, and that requires additional staff - one person can't direct two or three movies simultaneously.

Reply to ELI5 Why can someone easily pick up other signals on a walkie-talkie, but you can’t easily listen in to cellphone conversations? by king063
Personal walkie-talkies work on a smaller range of frequencies and they send out analog signals. These are basically "raw" signals without any special encryption or compression or processing. An analogy would be with light waves, and shining a flashlight towards your neighbor's window. Anyone with eyes who knows which house is going to be sending a message can look at that window and see the light.
Cellphones are on a larger range of frequencies and they send out digital signals. When you talk into the phone, it gets processed into bits (0s and 1s), sort of like recording a sound file. And that takes up space, so the phone then compresses it so it takes up less space (and also reduces the quality of the audio), and then sends that over several varying frequencies so it can all be received at the same time at the destination location, where it then has to be decompressed and converted back into an analog signal (sound). And there are different ways of delivering that signal to the target phone, for instance, it might get cut up over a few different frequencies or sent out along with other calls on the same frequency (just received and decoded by the appropriate recipient). All that means that even if you happen to tune in to the same frequency that someone else's phone is broadcasting at, you're not necessarily keyed in to the same timing and signal that it's sending at, and because it's digital your phone won't actively be decoding whatever it is receiving because it's not on an actual call.

No. That laptop makes no sense, 32 GB of RAM is overkill for a setup with no dedicated GPU.

Reply to Which channel did you grow up with: Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon or Disney Channel? by [deleted]
Original favorite in the 90s was Nickelodeon, CN was my favorite in the 2000s, never really watched Disney.
Favorite shows were AYAOTD?, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Rocko's Modern Life, AHHHHH Real Monsters, Ren and Stimpy, and Two Angry Beavers. On CN I enjoyed Dexter's Lab and Courage the Cowardly Dog, and the classics they showed like Scooby Doo and Johnny Quest.

The books are the original media. The TV series was actually pretty faithful, at least in the first season, they took more liberties in the second season. Video games are like a big fanfic homage to the series.

According to this (https://support.google.com/mail/answer/7401?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop), GMail deletes emails from your account that have been in your Trash folder for 30 days, though you can manually empty that Trash folder earlier than that, too.
