Reply to comment by ty_kanye_vcool in TIL On Christmas Eve 1969, Francisco Macias Nguema had 186 suspected dissidents executed in the national football stadium in Malabo with the executioners dressed as Santa Claus, with the amplifiers played Mary Hopkin's song "Those Were the Days". by Osrever101
That country that had a brutal and murderous dictator for 11 years, then removed him from power, executed him and replaced him with his nephew - who's been a brutal and murderous dictator for 44 years now. Cool beans.

Reply to comment by BuilderNB in Makeshift sign over FDR Drive, NYC that reads: Arrest Trump by supercoincidence
Yeah, I'm sure Donald "I promised to release my tax returns and now sue people so that I don't have to, I surrounded myself with people who were criminally convicted on various charges, I praised authoritarian dictators who kill their enemies, I lied more than any other President in recorded history and I have a decades-long reputation for conducting shady businesses" Trump is totally clean and has nothing whatsoever to hide.

They're not installing 150 ejection seats in airliners because they think it's impossible, they're doing it because they know it's a shit idea. Same reason why they don't have parachutes under every seat. What the hell do you think would happen if an untrained and unprotected civilian was blown out of a pressurized cabin at high speeds and high altitude? This is real life, not an episode of Wile E. Coyote & The Road Runner lmao.

Reply to TIL the Futurama theme song is considered a variation of a 1967 song called "Psyché Rock" by french composer Pierre Henry, which in turn is based on the well known 1966 song "Wild Things" by the Troggs. by NoxDominus
And Wild Thing was written and composed by Chip Taylor - uncle of Angelina Jolie and younger brother of Jon Voight.
