it's been years since i've bought from them, but their return policy is fraud. i bought a brand new headphone and they sent me a brand new headphone. it was in mint condition. i tested it for 3 days and decided that it wasn't my taste. during this time, the return policy said something like "10-25% restocking fee depending on the condition of the item" or something like that. the headphone that i returned was in mint condition with no damage and i even wiped it with a slightly wet cloth. they automatically resorted to deduct the max restocking fee which i personally knew was utter bullshit.

i am not a fan of schiit. they have good warranty and their products have good value, but the quality of their amp and dacs are not so good. their amps smell like burnt plastic and their dacs are infested with QC issues

if a company can make a closed back version of an open back headphone and it sounds about right, then that is a success. ZMF pulled it off with the verite which is great. however, sennheiser failed massively with the HD820

truth to be told, stereo is 99% of the battle when it comes to audio. imaging and soundstage play an extremely low role in gaming performance. if you take the best CSGO team in the world and gave one team a bunch of HD800S and an exact clone of that team a bunch of $10 stereo sony earbuds that you can buy from walmart, i would expect the hd800s team to have maybe 50.5% chance of winning.

companies should not be allowed to sell shitty hardware like this. amp/dacs usually just sit on a table without much physical movement. you should contact customer support and accuse them of knowingly selling shoddy hardware because it's the second one that died on you, and see if you can get a warranty or possibly a refund. if not, try contacting your bank and give them screenshots of both your receipts for buying this item twice and maybe a bunch of screenshots from other people having issues. see if your bank will stand by your side and force a chargeback. if not, then the best you can do is sell both your amps "as is" on ebay to recoup some of the costs.
