Reading the figures on the paper, the water is supercooled to a chilly 225K (-48°C).
Best case you get a brain freeze.
The supercooled state is unstable. It would probably crystallize into a solid in your mouth as you chugged it. Yikes.

VOCs aren't the big concern, it's small particulate matter.
PM 2.5 is the most commonly reported air pollution statistic. That is the concentration of particles 2.5 micrometer or smaller in size.
A good HEPA filter will remove most of this.

Actually, for the Polynesian islands they didn't have sextants. But they got by just fine. Wikipedia has a whole page on it.
