Not OP but my recipe is basically 6 leeks, chopped, 1 cup of shredded carrots, 2 1/2 lbs potatoes, chopped, ~2 liters chicken broth, 1/2 lb bacon finely chopped, and a cup of cream.

Fry the bacon until crispy, remove the bacon, add the leeks and carrots, cook ~10 minutes in the bacon grease on med, add chicken broth and potatoes. Simmer uncovered until potatoes are tender and then quickly blend using an immersion blender, and finally add the cream and cooked bacon in and stir. Salt and pepper to taste.

Ops looks more mash potato than mine, so I would maybe cook the potatoes separate and mash them, then add less chicken broth to the leeks and pour over.
