Do you think I have grounds for taking the chiropractor to small claims court or disputing the credit card charges? I guess I was just confused why when billed insurance there are these extra charges but the cash rate is a standard $50-60 per visit.

>It is very common for health providers in wa to have a different time of service rate than if billed later. You may not have signed anything but by billing your insurance, likely signing something to okay that, your chiropractor has a contract with them for the rates they can bill and get paid for. If your insurance doesn’t end up paying it, because of your agreement with your health insurance, you are now liable for that payment. As to the things you were charged for, did you ask the chiro? Something as simple as applying heat can be billed as extra. The chiro has notes on what was performed and should be able explain the extra charges, but it would be good to ask for the explanation of what was billed and why.

Yes I had asked and reviewed each individual statement. For example, the chiropractor never adjusted my lower back and legs but in the time of service it claims they did so for an extra $25 per treatment. I'm not disputing services they actually performed

I'm in my late 20s. Isn't Medicare (not Medicaid) only for older people? Either way, healthcare sucks and is overpriced and I feel seriously ripped off. Do you think my credit card company would do anything if I ask them to reverse the extra payments for services not rendered? Or CFPB? It worked before for other medical payments.

I had scoliosis and rounded shoulders with severe upper neck and back pain and several doctors including ones abroad at the time recommended me to go see a chiropractor, acupuncturist, or physical therapist. In hindsight I should not have listened to the advice of my doctor, but I do feel much better now that it doesn't bother me every day. My insurance "covered" chiorpractor adjustments but I was misled on the extent of the coverage, causing me to pay way more than if I just not had insurance and paid cash. But because I wanted to contribute to an HSA at the time with employer contributions, I decided the tax benefits was worth it.

Right, I will contact Aetna and see what my options are if this is intentional and fraud

For each visit, three types of services were billed to the insurance, adding up to $90-$100, whereas cash was $60. The service was the same. Because I had a HDHP, I didn't meet the deductible. Therefore if the insurance didn't cover much, I would suspect I can take them to court to charge me the cash rate.

Update: after complaining again to ESD, they are finally depositing the last 3 weeks of benefits to me. Its still better than nothing. For the 12 weeks before that, I have to wait for my appeal hearing. My appeal is just trying to be paid for the weeks from Sep 11 to Nov 19 that I had submitted valid claims for but was never paid, and my claim year is from Sep 4 so the week of Sep 4 doesn’t count. Do you have tips on how to win this appeal?

The reason I backdated to July was because I haven’t had income at all in 2022. From speaking with them on the phone they said backdating to July is best without decreasing the weekly claim benefit of $999. So I was like okay. But either way that backdate appeal shouldn’t impact payout for Sept onwards for ones that didn’t need to be appealed

Yes I have a SAW account. I can give you the claim ID. The appeal was to move my claim period back from Sep 4 2022- Sep 4 2023 to Jul 4 2022 - Jul 4 2023 but since they took too much hassle to deal with that I had cancelled the appeal with their confirmation, The job search logs were all sent via the secure portal from their website as attachments. Their representative gave me the option to file by phone or fax too which I also did

As you can see from these screenshots on the ESD website we discussed, https://imgur.io/a/iuXikgi?s=fbm, there is no way of filing the claims online. It might be because they changed the system after covid. The only option was to file by phone or by fax. I did both. And I filed the claims every week by the stated deadlines. I got confirmation that the job logs were received. But it is not showing up in my system that I should be paid. And that was it

And abruptly hung up on me. I was continuously put on hold and could not get in touch again.

Yes. Withhold taxes and according to their document it says claim year of 2022. But at this point I wouldn’t (if ever) receive the check until 2023. Either way, do I have to self report unemployment on my tax return for 2022? So having their check delayed past 2022 isn’t going to impact taxes right?

When I got approved for unemployment benefits in early 2022 for $25700, I got an email from UIClaimsAdj-Spokane@esd.wa.gov asking me to submit the job search form from ESD.WA.gov/job-search-log by online portal, fax or mail. The form requested that I must have a combined total of three Employer contacts, approved WorkSource activities or Other approved activities each week.

I uploaded all 26 job search logs to the ESD.WA.gov web portal under claims. I also faxed to 1-800-301-1796, emailed back to UIClaimsAdj-Spokane@esd.wa.gov, and mailed to the PO Box from the email they sent me.

Since then, I didn’t get any sort of confirmation from ESD except in the web portal it shows my claims are processing for my claim year which would be 2022. Previously it said not started.

Basically the landlord company made up hundreds of dollars worth of bogus expenses that my deposit is not enough to cover, they cannot provide proof of the damages in the apartment and refuses to let me back into the apartment since the lease is over, even charging me extra night after the lease because I had to step into the apartment to argue over the excessive billing. Also racial insults (I am a minority), purposefully refusing and delaying maintenance for my apartment specifically, and just overall a pain in the ass management to deal with. Not going to disclose the full name here but it’s a company that owns lots of apartments in Seattle. Horrible company of greed, would advise anyone to rent from a private landlord than a corporation.
