Reply to Horror movies - do they deliberately make characters so stupid things to stir the audience emotions up while watching? by geo_gan
Bad horror movies and schlocky so-bad-they're-good horror movies might follow this trope, but generally good horror movies won't do this.
But also, people in real life are stupid enough to be some of the dumb things characters in movies don't.
This post made me think of that GEICO commercial. "Why can't we just get in the running car?" "No, head for the cemetery!"

Reply to Bullet Train-How did The Wolf know? by Goldenwolf_
He didn't. He was getting on the train to kill the hornet, and completely coincidentally run into Brad Pitt and recognized him from the wedding, and assumed that he must have also been part of the poisoning plot.
It's just another example of Brad Pitts character having incredible bad luck throughout the movie

Reply to Honest question: Why do anime fans prefer to watch with subtitles instead of dubbed version? by [deleted]
Even if you can't understand the language, the original actors tone and mannerisms come across and add so much to the performance that dubs just don't recapture in my opinion. Especially when it's something with absolutely terrible dubbing that makes watching it in that format impossible (see Squid Game)

I'm glad I'll be long dead by the time it hits public domain and every wanna-be arthouse film student takes a crack at it.

>Steak fucking sucks. McDonald’s hamburgers are legitimately better, I want to feel the maximum at every second. Horror movies should have loads of atmosphere, and jump scares, and everything good in the world that’s imaginable.
I'm not sure how Reddits feeling about Rick and Morty quotes at the moment, but
"feels like that guy had other stuff going on"

I could not disagree with this more.
Jump scares take what could be actually compelling scenes/movies and turn them into haunted house rides: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=p0Vc9_f4ByA&t=2s
Saying "I like jump scares" is like saying "why would I pay for an expensive steak when a McDonalds burger will fill me up?"

The ending makes more sense if you accept the theory that they're not actually aliens, but are instead some kind of demons, hence the "holy water" working on them
