It's basically like Contact - almost perfect premise and build-up, but it just deflates like a leaky balloon, with stupid religious nonsense mixed in

Hey man, if we ever start visiting and invading planets, I'm sure there will be a few groups of humans who think that landing on planets with nitrogen or methane as the local atmosphere is a perfectly smart thing to do.

But they used the same actors for older Bond movies as well. Both Connery and Moore did quite a few movies, with no need for continuity between them.
So yea, I think this can definately work and is probably my preferred format for Bond. The experiment with Craig and his decades-long lusting for Vesper was... interesting? But ultimately not worth dedicating 6 (?) movies to.

It's easy. The guys are all called "Chris" and the women probably have an Instagram you can subscribe to. Shouldn't be that hard to remember.

I'm only familiar with that video you linked by Gaming Historian, so I'm curious about this movie. But I am "worried" about them playing up the drama, which it just doesn't need. Like you said, the story itself is wonderful - smart, inventive, if somewhat naive, developer surpressed by the horrible system of
SovietRussia, contrasted with western creative ways to make money.
