Completely agreed. Found it recently for about $100, brand new, from an online thrifter with tons of other stuff. Box had never been opened and I thought why not. It really reminded me of a modern version of a classic keeb I grew up with, just a ton more solid. Modding it brought me back to having to repair terminal keyboards in the mid/late 90s.
Keyboard: Abkoncore AR87 with solderable PCB, aluminum plate Switches: Cherry MX Blacks, lubed and filmed with Durock films Mods: Small film of sorbothane in the bottom of the case, clipped and modded stabilizers (plate mount), force break between top and bottom case with thin washi tape.
Thank you! It feels quite lovely! I spent about 8 hours on it modding the case, soldering, lubing and filming the switches, and such. It's my main now and hits the need :-)
