‘The vast of night’ would be good for this. It’s about a guy at a radio station and a girl on a switch board in a small town who maybe pick up an alien signal. Lots of long dialogue sections with not huge amounts of visual activity. I’ve listened to it in bed and it could almost be a radio play

I’ve dipped in and out of Riverdale and am mostly up to date but I watch it sort of in a let’s see what madness they’re up to now. I watched the original twin peaks and fire walk with me but just couldn’t get into the new season.

Most if not all Riverdale episodes are named after old genre movies, it’s neon soaked and so out there that it is clearly a conscious decision but wether that means it’s a good decision is another thing. My fiancé always questions why I watch it and I always say because I think it might be genius and I’m going to figure it out. It’s the TV version of Nic Cage

In my mind the writers room of Riverdale is a group of people and one person at the top says “you can write ANY story you want as long as it happens to these characters” and they don’t care if it makes sense or not

I’ve watched both and I am well aware of how loved Twin Peaks is and the reputation of Lynch and Frost but honestly some of Twin Peaks seems just as dumb and nonsensical as parts of Riverdale.

Sometimes I wonder if years from now people will rediscover Riverdale as some cult hit
