I would say it depends on genre. In rap or electronic it might be okay. But in genres like rock or classical it is terrible.

Apart from the "atomic fear" line, I have always felt that Black Sabbath - Children of the Grave is an amazing song to be set to WWI. Metallica - For Whom the Bell Tolls is up there as well.
