Reply to Car question: Just moved to Rhode Island and I need to get my license plate, registration, license and insurance ect all switched over. Where is the best place to start? RI DMV website isn’t very helpful. by Zealousideal-Draft63
Do you own your car or have a copy of the original title? If not you’ll need to get it sent to Cranston and you can only make the appointment at Cranston. I have a leased car and it was a nightmare to get my car stuff switched to RI

My husband always loves getting them from Cooke House in Newport. Always a good selection of local oysters (especially when they have Walrus and the Carpenter).

Nope didn’t change my premium at all. GEICO has a windshield glass program so I did the claim through them first. If they were able to fix the crack it would have been free but it was too big so I needed a whole new windshield, and I only paid the $50 deductible

I went to Safelite in New Bedford, and my insurance (GEICO) covered it. All I had to pay was the deductible on my plan which was $50. I would definitely look into what your insurance covers

Have you set up mail forwarding from NY to RI? I did and while it did take a bit longer to get mail I was still able to get things on time. You can do it online via the postal service for $1 and it’s good for a year. Good safety net in case you have other things mailed to the old address

I’ve found that bagel works in Bristol have pretty authentic bagels. And I’m a recent NJ Jewish transplant

I don’t think that’s part of the plan. From things I’ve seen/read it’s just focused on connecting Fall River, New Bedford and Taunton with Boston via the existing Middlebourgh/Lakeville line and secondary to the Providence/Stoughton line

They’re building the line already so it’s passed. It’s scheduled to open fall 2023 so with how things work I’m guessing it will be operational sometime in 2025

Can we also talk about how there’s no link from Newport County to either providence or Boston? I live in Tiverton and drive to Attleboro to pick up the train for my commute to Boston. Thank god I only commute 1x-3x per week. I don’t know if I could do this every day.
