Exactly this. Many people pay little to no attention when they operate a vehicle. When you get a car serviced, for instance, the lights are always shut off. People never notice it was done, and their interior has lights, so... Canada has legislation introduced that would make lights default to auto to prevent this, but I'm not sure where that is at the moment. If it passes there, I suspect many manufacturers will adopt it to keep all North American market stuff the same.

I mean, she isn't wrong. How else do you find out if a school is safe, but to test if it is safe? I would rather a woman with no ill intentions does it than find out when someone does actual harm.

This is an accepted security practice called "red team-ing" in some circles. Typically, you get hired to do this and by someone high up the food chain who doesn't warn the target facility.

They definitely should have arrested her, because that's the response the situation should have triggered, but should not be fined or put behind bars for it.

Hopefully real changes happen.

  1. People who can't tell if a headlight is out? If you can't tell if a headlight is out, you really aren't paying attention. Also, if they can't tell, then why are they driving into oncoming traffic with their high beams on?

  2. Some people can't afford a replacement headlight bulb. No friends, some people can't afford cars. Vehicle maintenance is required to own a vehicle.

  3. Lack of enforcement. There used to be a time where people would be pulled over for equipment issues, crossing the "fog line" on the right, running yellow lights or rolling through stop signs. Not anymore.

You cannot drive without plates or insurance, so if you don't have a set of currently registered plates from your own vehicle, you'll need to make an extra trip.

  1. You pay them, they fill out and sign the bill of sale built into the back of the title. If it's already got info on the back, stop. The title needs to start out clean and in their name.

  2. If you have plates from your currently registered car, attach those and complete the following steps on the same day. If you cannot complete them that day, park in your driveway and get a ride to complete everything else.

  3. Go to your insurance agent with the title and get a policy and an RMV-1 form from them. They will fill it out and stamp it.

  4. Go to the registry and get it registered, they will give you plates if you didn't have them in step 2, and a registration which stays in the car.

  5. Get your new car a state inspection sticker within 7 days.

Not as often as you'd think. Lots of messy, rough rectangles unless there's a published hold area. The controller gives you a new heading when they have time between communication with other aircraft. This results in straight lines, but at different times each pass, so weird, messy rectangles. There's some good examples in the "real atc" channel on YouTube.
