What is important to note here though is that some appliance makers, like Kitchenaid, make cheaper versions of some of their stuff that gets sold at some of the bigger box stores at large discounts. Like the stand mixers. Some of the models that seem the same but are kind of inexplicably way cheaper, that can be because some had plastic instead of metal gearing, or less strong motors.

Kitchen aid does this with their stand mixers. If I recall correctly, some of their big box sold ones, that go on deep sales, have less powerful motors etc.

I avoid fast food as a general rule, it’s literally my last food option when nothing else is available.
But both places bring in meat to sell onto consumers and profit off doing so, so I think claiming that as the reason to avoid fast food as a vegan is a bit of a stretch.
I also made no assumptions about how stuff is cooked in a fast food place, I merely pointed out that both places profit off selling meat.
I do in fact eat vegan. I am also under no illusion that staff in a fast food, or any other restaurant that isn’t solely plant-based for that matter, are going to cross-contaminate the foods, because they either don’t give enough of a shit, or are too stupid to know better. As I have no allergies the cross-contamination is not a huge issue for me personally. If I eat at a BK it would be a calculated risk at that point.

By that logic you can’t shop at a grocery store either.

Not the person you responded to, so I can’t speak to a wool pillow, but wool itself is naturally antimicrobial, which does a significant amount of the work for you.
And I use pillow protectors as an added washable layer under the pillow case on mine.

I like that Wirecutter tests pretty extensively (at least the items I’ve read reviews for). Their reviews also give good options that allow for a range of price points and in case you want all the bells and whistles.

I love my Aeron, going strong at over a decade.
It was one of very few furniture pieces I took with me when I divorced.

We had something similar to that, good brand. The metal knob broke off. Normal usage, I was pretty pissed.
