Yeah, a character literally explains that what they are saying is not the case in clear, plain English. Whatever. They can be wrong. I still think that it's a bummer that it probably drives away people who would love the show if not for having gleaned a mistaken impression of it, but I think I've hit my lifetime limit for arguing with text on a screen.

Eh, it had it's moments. The main interesting thing about that was that Grant Morrison (heady comic book author) was one of the writers. The show didn't end up coming together as well as they'd hoped, but they did have a lot of ideas to bring to the table. I dunno. I'm not sorry I watched it the once.

When I read the Southern Reach trilogy (those books that the Alex Garland movie "Annihilation" is based on), I accidentally read them out of order and didn't even realize it until long after I'd finished it all. I read the second book first, then the first one, then the third. They weren't numbered and, at least on those editions, it was really strangely unclear about the reading order. Weirdly enough, I think the books actually work better the way I read them, lol.

It even bled into shows that ostensibly shouldn't have even been that. Under The Dome was completely undone by Lost envy. And then they started firing showrunners every season only to hire new showrunners that would immediately abandon the previous one's plots and plans and then do that again like five more times. It was almost amazing how committed that show was to being a trainwreck.
