Do you ever get that feeling in an open world game where you're not really doing anything important, you just see something in the distance and think "Huh, what's that? Lemme check that out"? That's Death Stranding. So for people who enjoy that kind of stuff, this game is great. I enjoyed it a lot.

I'm the type of person that really dislikes dropping things, even if they are not entertaining to me anymore. I wanna see it to the end. However, if you're fine with dropping things, just drop them when they are boring to you. I don't think it reinforces any bad habits, don't worry about that.

Does it entertain you? Does it make you happy? If yes, then it's not a waste of time. If you enjoy watching this more than playing the game yourself or doing something else, you should absolutely do it. If you feel bored watching it or would rather play the game yourself, then it probably is a waste of time.

Good point. If we look at the previous generations, there isn't that much of a difference between the end of PS3 era and the beginning of PS4 era. The games from 2012 and 2014 look fairly similar. If we compare games from the end of PS3 era and the end of PS4 era however, the difference is huge. Just compare TLoU (the original, no remasters) and TLoU2 for example. Or Dark Souls 1 and Dark Souls 3. Both came out in the middle of their gens, DS1 looks ancient compared to DS3.

Blood & Wine and it's not even close. That DLC had more content that a lot of single-player games. For example, I'm 100% sure that B&W has more content than The Last of Us. And this isn't just about quantity, the content in B&W is still really good. The fact that a DLC can have more content than a full AAA game and this content still has good quality astonishes me. Easily the best DLC ever.
