The difference between covered in glaciers and no glaciers is very little. 6 degrees. Some think we're in the beginning of an ice age now and only global warming is holding it at bay.

The more interesting thing is the linked article doesn't actually have anything to do with whether or not the physiology is shock absorbing lol it's about the tau link between Alzheimer's/CTE and woodpeckers having tau deposits. The article suggests the tau may be a protective mechanism and not just evidence of brain damage and needs further study
