Tons of hiking, breathtaking beauty in the fall when the leaves turn. History rich area as well. Schools are good and you are close enough to everything yet you feel like you’re in a peaceful nature setting.

Whip city jerky is the best I’ve ever had, it’s made in Westfield mass but you can order it online. It’s absolutely divine.

You can explore what’s left of the Hazard gun powder plant on the banks of the scantic river. The plant produced half of the gun powder for the civil war and exploded a number of times. Canals, evidence of old water wheels, bricks and debris are spread out for quite a ways.

Reply to comment by quediabloshagoxd in Is it worth it dropping a class if I’m gonna get a bad grade on it ? by [deleted]
It worked for me, I transferred to Syracuse and then back to my original school so I lost a bunch of credits. I didn’t always drop the worst class but it was a nice safety net to have.

I used to enroll in 18 credits a semester for this exact reason, I’d drop whatever class I was doing the worst in and wind up with 15 credits.

Wayback burger is excellent, I get the classic double but you can make it however you want. Lou’s lunch in new haven is one of the most famous burger joints in the country.

They don’t acknowledge it? If op wants to live in a community that isn’t in the middle of nowhere, choose something near the highways or the closer to the middle of the state if in the north

Lived here all my life and have never heard the term sundown town so you’re good there. The closer you are to the river and highway the more lively the town is.

The CT river itself is a blast, the Farmington is great. Tons of great little ponds all around.
