That was Willard Scott, probably best-known to more modern audiences as the folksy weather segment guy on NBC’s The Today Show for, like, a million years.

Miles Davis’ 1967 album Sorcerer is an excellent snapshot of Davis moving towards his psychedelic era, and the album is great until the final song “Nothing Like You” which was recorded in 1962 and features Bob Dorough (nowadays best known as the “folksy” singer of various Schoolhouse Rock songs) on vocals, and even at less than 2:00 wears out its welcome quickly.

The “suddenly” happened over thousands of years of humans learning how to preserve food, but yeah you’ve got the right idea.

It’s a great game and it’s huge with tons to do and explore but it’s a very purposely slow-moving experience, especially for the first few hours of the game, so if you’re not prepared for that you may be in for a shock at first.

I appreciate Robocop 2 the same way I appreciate Gremlins 2, as their own weird thing that exist separately from the original. And I just love that Irvin Kirschner directed The Empire Strikes Back 8 years prior to R2.

I'll go on record and defend Part II, because it has an interesting premise that threads itself concurrently into the first one. You can watch them in either order and it still works.
