>But it also performed better than the average Netflix top performer. So it was successful and did not have a "very small audience".
That doesn't mean it was successful. It's viewership and reportedly it's completion rate wasn't that good compared to 0ther expensive shows they produce. So it doesn't seem like it was successful.
This really comes down to you not really having the information to say if something was truly successful or not. If any of these shows were actually successful what does Netflix gain by cancelling them? Occam's razor my guy.

It makes sense, higher salaries means the budget increases which could mean a show is no longer worth making.
The clearly don't have a problem paying high salaries for things they think are worth it.

MGM+ is just a poor rebranding of Epix

This post is built on a misinterpretation of what was said. The entire quote is relating viewing metrics to budgets. So unless you are doing the same it's pointless. A show could have a huge audience but if it costs aot than the bar for renewal will naturally be higher.
A show like 1899 by all reports was not cheap, and relative to other shows the viewing numbers weren't that impressive.

I don't really care about where shows come from, I just want shows I enjoy.
If they made this and it's good then sure, more western shows would be cool.

Reply to Two of the most popular shows of the year (Wednesday and Dahmer) cam out of nowhere by [deleted]
I've been hearing about Wednesday for a long time and it has Tim Burton producing and directing for it, so not really out of nowhere.
Dahmer has on of the biggest TV creators working in Ryan Murphy behind it so not really out of nowhere either in my opinion.

I know of the game and some of the basic plot but I've never played it, probably never will since I'm not big into story based games.
I'm excited mostly for Craig Mazin

Woke is when they make something you don't like. So that explains that.

Maybe but for me the uniqueness of the animation, how tight it is, the voice acting and the song are what makes it great.
I like the Jim Carrey version but is over 3 times as long not because it needs to be but because theatrical movies needed to be so long.

The original animated version is better.
No I doubt they do another live action for a long time.

I'm not saying they didn't do any research, I'm saying that research would tell them more broad things and that combined with a pitch, combined with the feeling that IP is what sells things is how you end with this show.

There is a lot that could go wrong if she did your idea too.
Staying with the person you had been with for days doesn't seem like a bad decision to me especially considering the situation she was in. It doesn't seem like she was in actual danger asuch as he was just being used to keep her away. She was afraid for her boss, not for herself as much.
