Physical therapists call this, "The McKenzie Method", it's kind of a big deal.

One very important help is actually knowing what the problem is. I got an MRI (a pain in itself, thanks UHC!) and the doc saw my scoliosis and prescribed a lift in my left shoe. I also maintain core strength and do a lot of stretching. If I get pain, I stop what I'm doing immediately and rest, alternate heat and ice every 15 minutes and take 4 ibuprofen every 4 hours.

No, they can just close their blinds. Why lose your fun when you're doing nothing wrong? Not to mention, them closing the blinds makes it better as it removes the light.

Put your binoculars on Pleiades, your mind will be blown. Trivia note, that constellation is what the Subaru hood ornament is based on. Not sure if you know, but Google Sky Map is quite handy for identifying and even finding objects in the sky.

That's actually a great story. I don't think you should be bummed. Your wife's dog had probably repeated proven to be a good judge of character. We've all heard the stories about dogs judging people and how they're frequently right.

My girl<space>friend has 2 dogs, Belle and Betsy. Belle is scrawny lab wiggle butt, all up in your face, always happy. Betsy is a rescue hound that was abused, very flighty and unlikely to allow you to pet her. I'm very much a dog person/dog whisperer and I kinda take it personal that I can't make that damn dog like me. I know it's just the dog, but still, dammit ...
