I'm not arguing in favor of these idiots trying to 1984 the history books. I'm just saying there are already people who think whites are evil for being white, which is as much an overreaction as this is.

In 2020, during the height of the protests, black rights advocates pushed hard to redefine racism, with their new definition essentially making it so only white people could be racist because it defines systemic racism as the only possible form of racism.

The pressure was great enough it was officially added as an additional definition, but I constantly meet people who think it's the only definition.

We absolutely need to teach kids about racism... but we need more effort to teach that anyone can be racist, not just that it's a thing white people do to black people.

>But, listen to any political commercial on TV in Missouri. "Democrats want to teach your kids that white people are all evil and racist, just by being born white."

Let me start off by saying I'm very much voting Democrat, and writing in where the only option is a Republican... but this isn't 100% out of thin air.

There are extremist factions within any movement that always push things past the point of sensibility, which the opposition will then hold up as representative of the entire movement in order to demonize and discredit them.

Just like you have radfems that go beyond gender equality into active misandry, you have black supremacists that are using racial equality as a smokescreen for their own racism.

I'd recommend against getting a dumb tattoo.

Silly? Sure. Goofy? Why not? Zainy? Go for it. Weird? What is weird anyway?

But not dumb.

Never get a tattoo you know you're going to regret later.

As to your actual request... I haven't gotten any ink in town, myself, but I've seen several pieces of good work that came from Ink Ink and Bearded Lady.

Can second Alli's.

They've been around for about 80 years, and look it... and I mean that in the best way. They've that good, old-fashioned diner vibe that you just don't find around much any more. Not fancy or elegant, but very much classic Americana.

The food is also tasty, cheap, and plentiful. I'm a big guy, offensive line sized, and I ended up stuffed.

Jimm's isn't too bad on the $$ for a steakhouse, steakhouses as a whole are just pricey. They're actually cheaper than Outback.

Absolutely agreed on the food and the service. Also the atmosphere. They feel expensive because they have a really high-end vibe, even though the prices aren't horrible.

Just FYI, I was poking around the brightspeed website after seeing the news and the availability lookup site, shop.brightpseed.com is screwy, saying it can't find my address. The "q." version of the service lookup site works like a charm, though.

It's just a shame they won't have my zone until the end of March. We've had the lines run for a couple months now, but I guess the changeover has really put the brakes on everything.

Your biggest problem, as mentioned, is it's illegal and you're going to be constantly hassled by police if you park anywhere you can be found.

That means your biggest danger is going to frequent interaction with the police... which definitely has the possibility of you getting shot, and they're probably gonna be pretty weird as well.
