I think The Boys is a wrong answer here, because it didn't go off the rails.
My complaint is actually the opposite- everything always just resets to the status quo.
It's a one gimmick show that is quickly being overused.

I dropped it in the middle of Season 1. And I only kept with it that long because I was fresh from finishing POI and I wanted more Michael Emerson.

I can see a small movement away from established streaming services, and an increase with self published cartoons (like on YouTube).

I've yet to finish it.
I stopped watching in the middle of Episode 7. I was bored. I was thinking, I'll just skip the rest of this episode and continue at 8.
But I have yet to find the drive and the interest to continue now that 8 and 9 have actually aired.
