Reply to comment by gsx_750 in is there any on-hand consoles for under 600$ that performs good by towelbobcircleshirts
I agree but it is literally a PC and not really "Jump in and play" as a traditional console would be.
tl;dr: Steam deck is amazing but only get it if you know what you're getting/what you want it for.
Make sure you know of the games you want to play are supported as there are a few games that have the supported tag but aren't anymore because they don't get updated after the first verification. Yet.
Some games can play even if they are labelled as unsupported but there might be some things you need to do first like use a specific version of proton or install the github build.
What steam is doing for linux gaming is fantastic but its far from streamlined or standardized atm.

Reply to comment by Darkorigins7323 in Are there any brand new PS1 controllers out there OEM? Or will there always be new video game controllers made for consoles and PCs? by Darkorigins7323
Yes new controllers will still continue to be made but not for old consoles. This is why emulation is important to preserve lost media.
Anything can break due to wear and tear.
