It wasn't offensive per se, it was a valentine's meal of buttered noodles that everyone was dunking on.

The most baffling part of that show is that they set up a very emotional scene with Bucky and his neighbor for his atonement arc, then don't show us. So... we needed to see Anthony Mackie apply for bank loans and fix a boat, but not see a man find out >!his friend murdered his son!<? What?!

Easily my favorite part of the movie, he gets some great one-liners about women, and killing those dudes who wandered into their camp is one of those ultra-pragmatic things you're always wishing a character would do in a thriller.
