I use plastic shopping bags. Put the whole tray in the bag to line it, and when you’re done I use the same bag to wrap up the roller and chuck it in the freezer. When I’m ready for the second coat the next day I just thaw it out, re-line the tray with a new bag and your good. I do the same with brushes and only clean them once when the job is done

Reply to LPT When painting, line your roller tray with everyday aluminium foil. The roller will work absolutely fine in it and once you're done just put the foil in the trash - no cleaning required! by [deleted]
