You almost make it sound like the rental market is any more generous. In any event, I’m still a union worker and not a millionaire.

As one of those blue collar Union City residents about to have his view blocked, I can guarantee you there aren’t many of these “millionaires” you’re dreaming up. Pretty normal people who just like to keep the little they have.

I remember seeing a video of a guy crossing state lines refusing to be stopped and searched (he had to declare plants or something in his car), and he gave the state worker so much shit.
The video ends when he’s eventually pulled over by state troopers who he argues with before he’s dragged out of the car in front of his two teenage children.

Convenient to drink from, but they will definitively leak if tilted. I make coffee for my wife and I before commuting to work, and I indefinitely wouldn’t trust it in a backpack. I have a few Yeti’s though so I use the one with a screw cap, keeps my coffee nice and hot

The Yetis with the MagSlide caps are splash proof but not leakproof. All the other Yeti caps I own (Chug cap and Hot Shot Cap) are all leakproof.

My only gripe is their mag slide lids are pretty meh. Not sure how they haven’t fixed them yet

Won’t be $12, but Yetis will still be around and are damn well insulated

Perhaps. It doesn’t keep me up, I’m just up (far too) late at night but I haven’t heard any of my neighbors complain about it either.

I moved into a coop in august off the light rail and had no goddamn clue what that sound was every night, thank you. I just thought it was a power station not far past that.

I’m assuming fare beaters - at least on my early morning commute (at the Path station by 6am), there’s an army of people waiting for someone to enter/exit those turnstiles so they can flood in. And the morning security doesn’t even bat an eyelash.

I’ve lived in walk-ups in the Bronx, Harlem and Brooklyn; had a knife pulled on me outside of one, and was harassed and almost arrested by the cops just for sitting outside of another. I said what I said.
Zulumus t1_irgzcbt wrote
Lived in both. Walk-ups are great if you don’t have a family, doorman buildings just feel more secure.

Yup, if I recall the default is to have window guards in before a tenant even arrives, and then you have to sign a waiver to have them removed if you don’t have any children.
