Harmless usually means no juicy. No juicy gossips aren't going anywhere, noone wants to talk about them. You have to offer them some real bait to see what happens.

I used to do that and had two major dissasters occurring during the night when the water bottle ripped from the side. Now I use microwave seed cushions.

If you know beforehand that you need to explain something, make a diagram representing the pace of the speech and what you want to say in each moment, and stick to it. Do not improvise. If you don't kbow beforehand, it's ok to take a minute to order your thoughts and elaborate a mini diagram. No one would ever expect you to be an encyclopedia, ready to throw any knowledge at the moment and in the most accurate way.

Being judgamental is not a bad thing. Being too judgamental is. For me, I like to take some time and evaluate if my first reaction was fair or not. But if I think my first reaction was fair, I'm not feeling bad for thinking that way.
