This is not consistent with current understanding of stellar evolution. The sun won’t be turning into a red giant for about 5 billion years and then it has a long , long future as a white dwarf ahead of it.

There is no artificial will, volition or consciousness. No one has any idea how to make those things. Large language models are not it. The only thing ais might have that feels to us like those things is what they have been programmed to display. “No use for us” is true but so is “no goal, no purpose.”
If we say ai will naturally want to survive, that’s 100% baseless projection.
