I grew up in Frankford in a row home and our house had a front yard. My dad converted part of the yard to vegetable gardens. Kept him busy and out of trouble with the missus, aka my mom, spring to late fall.

Reply to LPT Request: How do you find time to clean/maintain the clean house while working fulltime and other responsibilities? by MoonlightPotatoes
I live alone on a 1/2 acre property with a nice sized house with 3 dogs so it is not easy.
If a task takes less than 5 minutes, do it immediately. For example, while I am making breakfast, I empty or load the dishwasher.
Have a schedule for routine stuff. There could be a weekly schedule of tasks but I also have a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual schedule. I take 4 day long weekends quarterly to do tasks on the weekend.

Reply to comment by aerorich in LPT request: how can I make my house more secure and less vulnerable for burglary. by chiduuuu
There was a burglar caught near my house and he said he did not go into the houses where he found large piles of dog poop in the yard. He thought large poop, large dog.

Penndot has a FAQ on this, copied below: https://www.penndot.pa.gov/TravelInPA/Safety/Pages/Frequently-Asked-Safety-Questions.aspx Your insurance may be notified of the violation and there may be a surcharge.
"If I get a traffic citation in another state, will I get points on my Pennsylvania driver's license? If you receive a traffic citation for speeding or a similar violation in another state, you will not receive points on your Pennsylvania driver's license. If you fail to respond to that citation, it could impact your license in Pennsylvania. If you receive a DUI in another state, you could face penalties in Pennsylvania. For more information on Pennsylvania's Point System, check out the Pennsylvania Points System Fact Sheet (PDF)."

Fixed! Kids are brutal and they tell me about myself. The other day, I told them that I was going shopping after dropping them off and the one asked if I was spending his inheritance.

While not in the same situation, I have over 200 hours of vacation time that I have to use by December 31 or I lose it so I am taking it in 2 week stretches in October, November, and December. I go to the movies at least once a week during the day. There is also something for running errands during the workweek, the other day I went to Trader Joe's and it wasn't packed.
Some other things I keep busy with...today, I did cooking for a month with freezable soups, chili, and stews. I volunteer to pick up my friend's kids from school or chaffeur them to various activities to give my friends a break, they also keep me in check, lol. I also have a lot of house projects.

Reply to Cat boarding recommendations by ThatWasTheJawn
I leave my cat at home and use a pet sitting service to come in every 2.5 days to scoop his litter pans, refresh his water bowls, and make sure that he has kibble in his automatic feeder. He is not a fan of wet cat food, unless it is canned dog food.
He seems to do just fine home alone except that he may miss his dog brother as the dog goes to boarding with a pool.
