Pretty much. There's zero quality control so spam, bots, and junk like this floats to the top. This is also one of the worst uses of this effect I've ever seen.

This might very well be something you've already thought of, and it doesn't look like there any such articles on your site so far, but if you're thinking about expanding, I'd be very careful of excluding all r/OrphanCrushingMachine type stories. I.e., stories that sounds uplifting and happy, such as "grade school student pays off the lunch debt for their entire class" without addressing the bleak reality that our society has put children into debt.

Because half of the posts on there are just r/orphancrushingmachine posts in disguise.

A large fraction of that death count is birds and crabs and such eating them on the beach between the nest and the water. By dumping them effectively directly into the water, they're increasing the survival rate.
