I also work via Telehealth with Dr Gary Kracoff out of Johnson Compounding in Waltham for mycotoxin health issues (we did various tests to confirm a mycotoxin issue and bow are doing immune boosting functional medicine work) — not cheap (though cheaper than some other docs), but has been valuable for my health.

OP, frankly everything in Providence will feel very close after living in Boston. The question might be: which part of Boston would you live in if you could? When we moved, we knew we wanted a Jamaica Plain kind of vibe (walkable, shops, mix of people, parks, restaurants, still central to everything) and found it on the East Side of Providence near Pawtucket border. A lot of nice family neighborhoods people are recommending here would be far from retail shops and not very walkable.
FYI, I highly recommend Meeting Street Early Childhood Center (just south of RI Hospital). Great program, excellent teachers, decent price (compared to similar caliber programs).

Driving is absolutely impossible to downtown Boston unless you have non-rush hour work times, and even then it’s tricky. Many people do the daily train commute. Check to see whether your work would allow you to do pre-tax transit deductions (mine does). It’s most ideal to do the commute if you have the kind of job where you also do some work on the train (or you are an avid reader and read books). I do lesson plans, write emails, and grade papers, for example.
It would be ideal also to have a partner/other parent who could deal with kid stuff while you are at work (my co-parent works from home in Providence).
Providence public school are not well regarded, fyi. There are exceptions and many public school devotees, and there are also many independent schools and parochial schools.

We did actual attic mold remediation with Riggen Environmental and were impressed with the work they did and the price was competitive/good.
