Reddit hates EVERYTHING, don't worry and just live your life. Go to any mountain biking, gaming or car subreddit and see for yourself.

My screen is ALR, it cost nearly $2500. The projector is still one of the best in contrast on the market under $10,000. I have a pitch black movie room.
The quality is great, it's still not close to OLED.

It'd help big time with aliasing in games

Naw. As someone who owns a JVC projector (NX5) and a high quality screen, and as someone who has an OLED for their monitor (C2) and in the bedroom, it's not even close. It's good, but you are trading size for quality.

What exactly are you expecting? It adds more realistic lighting and reflections. Do you think it's going to make things photorealistic overnight? Graphics have always evolved in steps, and this is yet another step.

The fact people upvoted your comment is embarrassing. Raytracing and similar technologies have been (and still are) the future. The problem is your card just can't handle it properly. More accurate lighting and reflections are not going anywhere, they'll only improve and become more mainstream.

Depends on the games you play and how 'valuable' $200 is to you.

If being poor in the US is hell, you haven't seen a hard life. Maybe in your mind a few countries take care of the poor, but the fact is the vast majority of the world being poor means you are being sold into slavery, being raped, abused and/or murdered and nobody bats an eye.
