Coming from Illinois, our iPass system has allowed you to set your own replenishment amount forever. They also auto deduct tolls from your account at the correct rate (and no fine) if your transponder doesn’t register but your license plate is on the account.

When I moved here the auto replenishment amount being determined by EZPass on their whim was completely fucking foreign to me. How is that legal? Why can’t I replenish a fixed amount that I specify or choose from a list of fixed amounts?

The card has a circuit with an antenna and small programmable chip with a unique identifier but no battery. The reader is actually just a big RF antenna, when you bring the card near enough to the reader the circuit is powered by that RF energy (similar to how wireless charging on a phone works for ease of explanation) enough to produce a small return signal. That return signal contains your unique identifier and is picked up by the reader which then communicates over the network or internet to a server. The server checks if you have access to that door and if you are within your allowable access schedule, and triggers a magnetic solenoid that releases the catch on the door allowing you to open it.

My 4 year old beautiful turkish angora just had 11 extractions last week. Fed only premium wet food his whole life. Vet told me the same thing basically. Continue to feed wet food and he will live healthier for longer, just take care of the teeth as best as you can ongoing and pull them as needed. 3 year old Calico that we picked up off the street as a stray emaciated kitten, fed the exact same thing, 100% perfect teeth.

Neither. Mostly corporate dispensaries, no home grow for medical patients, prices are very high still, but the bud itself is pretty decent. The black and grey market are benefiting much more since no one really wants to pay $450/oz for some dry curaleaf shit when you can use one of the hundred different delivery services that will drop off an ounce of fire in 45 minutes for $300.

In that regard it's a failure because of lost tax revenue. Cracking down on those services isn't the answer, either. The answer is to open home grow to medical patients and lower the barrier to entry for independent cultivators and dispensaries. More independent businesses = more tax revenue and competition to drive prices down.

Y'know, the way capitalism is supposed to work. Right now it's basically regulatory capture by the big MSOs and they've successfully locked out the competition. That isn't ok.
