As one user said above most big box home improvement stores have a cutter in the department with the shelving. You can buy just a few feet of it and the little caps and walk out with it the right size.

I had a friend who built a framed piece of wooden lattice work that fit exactly in that space, painted it the same color as the wall and threaded lights through it. She used Command hooks to secure it in place. It was open enough that she could hear and sort of see people in the next room but they did not have a clear view of her and the kitchen.

Also singing. Find the upbeat songs you remember from every era and have yourself a singalong. Just you, as loud as you want or need.

You can save lots of money by forgetting to give them plates. Just a thought.
