Not sure if you have considered it. But if you, relative or a friend have a little bit of yard you can rent a small 20x20-20x30 tent. Get catering (don't tell them it's a wedding as it will be cheaper) and DIY for a very reasonable price.

I run one of my business's out of town and have a large parcel of land here. Mendon is great, there are lots of activities, like everyone else is saying, The Zoo, the Drive In are great. Mendon has tons of hiking trails, the lake, the beach, there's a bunch of farms, you can get raw milk at Greener acres farm, You can get wine, food, berries and Christmas trees at Vandervalk farm. New England Steak and Seafood is one of the better places to eat. If you are an outdoorsman there are plenty of public places to hunt, however many properties have enough land for one to legally hunt (or target shoot) legally and safely. The fishing is also pretty good. You also might have enough land to ride dirt bikes and atvs if you are into that.

The bad. Kevin Mehann (owns imperial dealerships) pretty much owns the town, he's knocking down the driving range to build a strip mall/ market/ lower income housing and wants to build a massive rotary. He also leaves his dealership lights on all night and the light pollution from that can be seen from pretty much any part of town. The good thing about him is that he does a cool Christmas light display. There is a dispensary about to open. The religious zealots (folks who have bible versus on signs in front of the places they live in) are upset about it. The boomers who were brainwashed by reefer madness and other anti marijuana propaganda are also very irate about it. They think death and destruction will come. Oh they are also upset about the strip club that's half built. There are people moving next to farms trying to get roosters banned and other silly stuff like that. I have a friend who rides his horse on some side streets and some guy who moved in from Cambridge had a mental breakdown about him riding his horse on the road. Oh if you move in next to someone who has the land to have snowmobile, dirtbike and atv paths. Don't be that guy who calls the police on them for legally riding on private property. It's not cool and will make the locals not like you. The taxes are also sky rocketing. People keep buying houses worth 500k for a million here and the local residents are feeling the squeeze, especially the elderly who are getting pushed out of the town because they can't afford the property taxes.

I say this because I have a cousin with autism, people here appreciate the 4th of July. Folks with autism might not appreciate the noise around the 4th as there are many fireworks appreciators in town.

The Wonton Don did a fabulous travel vid of Woonsocket, it's on YouTube. You can go to one of the Dollar Trees to see the manager verbally abuse his employees and make them cry. Savini's, Christopher's, Ciro's, and Tacos Don Nacho are fantastic places to grab a meal. If you like to get black out drunk, the local Applebees can get you white girl wasted in minutes. Also, if you like Martinis, go to Savini's and ask them to make you a martini that's dirtier than a Woonsocket street walker.

It's sad, I picked up a massive parcel of acreage in Mendon and built a 3.5 mile trail network for wheeling, snowmobiling and cross country skiing. I even picked up a 2nd and 3rd sled so my friends could join. Hell I even built a grooming drag. I have had zero rideable or skiable snows. Even my place up north is so devoid of snow I'd have to trailer to a parking lot 20 minutes away to be able to get a riding session in full of water bars and exposed ground.

Sunday River has the Grand Summit and Grand Jordan hotels. Both are around the same price. The Grand Jordan is nicer, however its on the other side of the mountain. Both are ski in/out and have hot tubs If you want to enjoy the local nightlife it's a longer drive than staying at the Summit. The summit is outdated and tired. However if you complain they might toss in free lift tickets or take 10% off. Weekend skiing is god awful here, super crowded. If you are a fan of the beezlebubs lettuce there are pot shops all over the place.

Okemo has the Jackson Gore. The hotel itself is not bad, ski in/out is great, hot tubs cool, however when I stayed there for a wedding in January of 2021 they had a pillow shortage and were rationing 1 pillow per room. My pregnant wife was absolutely thrilled. (I broke into a linen closet and liberated a ton of pillows) I'd never stay there again because of that. But it's an option. Lines for Weekend Skiing were not horrible.

The Mountain Club on Loon. It's not bad, not amazing. Good indoor pool outdoor hot tub, a steam room full of naked old men who want to chat. My last trip was in the winter of 2020 right before the world went to shit and it was affordable. However weekend skiing is awful at loon.

Grand Hotel at Attitash. It's not bad, its affordable and a short drive to Conway where there is a ton of stuff to do. Mountains not bad either. You could also theoretically go night skiing down the street at Cranmore. But Cranmore is a terrible little mountain.
