Reply to RDR 2 by virtualgene

Both PS4 pro and One X versions of the game has 4k resolution but in checkerboard rendering. Only improvement PS5 and Series X brings to the table is a stable 30 fps as the game has not been updated for current gen. Also One X version probably has better texture and shadow quality since that was the stronger hardware.

But

You can play first RDR on Series X and it's stable and beautiful, which is a big win.

Now if you'll excuse me I will go and apologize to my playstation collection

Elden Ring, Metro Exodus Complete Edition or Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut

These are the most bang for your buck games I own for PS5, also they're pretty high on my favorites list

PS4 pro has 6 months to 1 year lifespan left at most in my opinion. If you want to play new games in the long run you can go with series s. You'd cover online with Gamepass also if you play multiplayer often.

Depending on your tv and how much more you can squeeze out of your pocket I'd say consider getting a PS5 though. Stocks are coming back and you'll be able to buy it in retail price. Lately Activision deal sparked a console wars mindset in reddit but I think PlayStation still has the best games of the console world and gives the best experience with dualsense.

No disrespect to Xbox owners though, my roommate has one and I think it's a great machine, just doesn't appeal to me.

If you just want to play fifa you can go with Xbox and gamepass since it includes ea play

Also as you said it's cheaper for you

If your tv isn't 4k you can even go with series s

I have a ps5 and my roommate has a xsx and we switch consols from time to time to be able to catch up with exclusives.

I just feel more comfortable with Xbox controller on long gaming sessions but if you don't have that time dualsense will give you an amazing experience.

PlayStation subscription is good for catching up with old exclusives but not new ones. Xbox subscription is good for playing current games and also current exclusives with time.

Also with xsx you can play almost any game you mentioned that you fond of. I recently played Conker's Bad Fur Day and Castlevania Lords of Shadow on my friends Xbox for example.

One thing PS5 has is it's exclusives which are really making everyone's choice harder like you noted on your post. Last of Us, Returnal, Spiderman, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding, Sifu etc.

From what you said about yourself I think Xbox would be a great choice for you. But if you're still thinking about other exclusives that I haven't mentioned in the last paragraph go for PlayStation. Gaming is all about enjoying ourselves. I think either way your choice would be the right choice. Have fun friend.

I rocked my thicc og PS4 since day one to my PS5 purchase last year.

Some people want the best performance they can get which I totally understand and respect.

For me, even though I understand what that improved hardware brings in I just want to run my games plug&play style nothing more.

So, to answer your question I think it boils down to what you enjoy. If you don't want to wait for all the games that are already out just get one, I think ps5 hardware can support this generation smoothly to the end. (Except Gotham Knights lol) But if you are seeking native 4k+ray tracing+unlocked fps kind of experience simply just wait.
