Colombian food: El Paisa on Dexter S in Pawtucket, the first Hispanic Restaurant that opened in RI in the late 70s or early 80s. Shakira ate at this restaurant once when she was about to blow up as a global superstar. Hillary Clinton had an event here. In fact, people would come from Boston and other places to eat here in the early years. My first visit was in 1998. People would line up to eat here. Other Colombian restaurants started popping up. Still, El Paisa arepas are the most authentic. The actual owner and chef is now in a nursing home and the restaurant has been passed down to his daughter. still very good. 100% Colombian Family.

El Antojo (new management) is small in size. But an excellent little place to go for me to read if I don't want to be around too many people. These family also owns El Montanero Caffee. 100% Colombian Family

La Casona: Not bad, but more Americanized; their arepas are not good. A mix of flowers and corn and their coffee isn't good. The restaurant's design is charming. The owner is Colombian he does the deliveries. Sits in the dinning room from time to time.

Los Andes: Peruvian and Bolivian cuisine. Excellent. Own by brothers . One of the brothers is the chef. Family Owned.

For Sushi: Haruki in Cranston and Haruki East Prov.

Italian Food: Ioncelli in Cranston. Our governor eats here!

I was born in Latin America. I have traveled the world and spent a lot of time in LA and Florida; still, Rhode Island is the best. It does feel very "homey."

>I love going to the supermarket, and somewhere in Rhode Island, I will see someone i know and get to say hello. I was at CCRI a few months ago and saw governor Mckee. A few weeks ago, I met Ashley Kalus. Fung, I have met as well. I also saw very upclose Gina Raymundo ... I mean, I would never experienced anything like this in LA or Florida, too huge. I love this little state!

>Its such a small state, that you are bound to know someone, who knows you or one of your relatives. Specially if you are from Craaaaaaaaaaaaanston. Rhode Island is also the state where I learn English, and when i was in LA, i was told , some of my words were very "East Coast".

I have been doing stunts and acting since 2004. LA, NYC and Boston, and at one point RI. Is very nice when i don't have to travel far. Plus commercial and print work mostly in Boston of course, NYC. No, you don't have to be in NYC or LA to make a living at this. Times have changed except in RI. My question is, Why don't they bring back the film tax incentives? It would help the entire state, minor shops, actors wo are minor players etc.

I can talk . Its called freedom of speech? is it not? I am not from the USA, but last i heard you still have freedom of speech. Besides bringing more films to RI, means jobs for a lot of actors that can help them feed their families and pay their bills. Just so you know. I still would love to know who canceled the film tax incentives. Cause they sure bring in minor players from other states even filming in Boston

i have not watched it, but I bet very few actors from RI were hired! They "whoever the rich politicians are," need to bring the film tax incentives back so more films can be done here. Who was the brain surgeon who canceled the tax incentive so that all the film jobs go to Boston and their surrounding areas who???

I remember the one year i worked a lot in stunts and acting in RI was 2005/2006. Never again I either have to go to NYC or Boston (better than traveling to NYC)
