If you haven't had it for OVER 14 days, I would go back to wherever you purchased it and have them swap it out. Time is of the essence.

If it comes back then it might be an issue of the oleophobic coating starting to wear off on your phone, it’s just weird that it’s in the shape of a square.

The problem isn't getting an IPSW and getting iTunes to install it, the issue is that anytime you do that apples server's validate that it's still being signed, ios14 is longer being signed for the iPhone 8 so there's no way to install on that device.

It’s weird that they’re missing because they exist on my iPhone 8 running iOS 16.3.
If a restart didn’t fix it then you may need to try a complete wipe and restore of your phone.
