Hi, a little video introducing my next single, I am honoured to share a collaboration with the great Raul Barboza from Argentina, one of the greatest performers ever on this particular style/genre (Chamamé). Please check it out. Album coming in a couple of months
Raúl Barboza releases his new single "Toda una Vida Volviendo", out on February 17, 2023 : https://bfan.link/toda-una-vida-volviendo
"Toda una vida volviendo" is a musical landscape that begins evoking nostalgia and elegantly mutates into a lively and moving rhythm. This composition is the first preview of Barboza & Diaz's album “Souvenirs Panamericanos”, which will be officially released on March 21, 2023.

This particular track is a pure experiment, I was recording my acoustic piano, using some mechanical rubber mutes for a different project, and did this take just for me as a test. I didn't know what to do with it, and abandoned. Then, I overdubbed many different instruments over the past few months, an upright bass+acoustic drums rhythm section, an unexpected old-schools synth. Later I added an orchestral section.
There's a lot of work on this track but still I don't know where it's going nor what was i attempting when I started it. An experiment, a true one.

Daniel Diaz - A Cure For Nightmares [instrumental experimental] felt piano, synths , shepard tone
Hello, I created this one today morning (Friday 18th Nov 2022) using a felt piano library sound and synthesisers along with a descending shepard tone for the bad dream's part. (I have that as a recurring dream: me falling for ever)
There's a "nightmare" chord (some sort of C minor "alt") and then the "sweet dreams" chord (C6/9) Around 1 minute into the piece the "sweet dreams" chords tries to get in but fails, to be eventually fully heard at the end, before the rallentando at 1:42 and back to a nice sleep.
For a junto challenge about dreams, Read more here: Step 1: We’re going to make music inspired by recent research on sleep habits. Read the article here:
www.sciencealert.com/nightmares-can…tists-discover 5
Step 2: Think about the hallmarks of a nightmare.
Step 3: Spend some time with the C6/9 chord. The notes are C E G A D. (In other words: the root, major third, perfect fifth, major sixth, and major ninth.)
Step 4: Create a piece of music that begins with the hallmarks of a nightmare and then gradually transforms into a more positive piece through the use of piano chord C6/9.

work in progress started Friday 11th November 2022
for this challenge:
Record a piece of music that moves between — and perhaps even overlays — 5/8, 6/8, and 7/8 time signatures.
great idea, always loved measures like 5x8 and 7x8… I just created a click track on 3 consecutive measures of 5/8+6/8-7/8 and repeated for 3 minutes.
Spent most of the morning working on the drum part, recording editing and quantizing, then the bass part was quite easy. Then I had other works to do today and got trapped on the repetitive guitars parts (3 telecaster, 3 les paul) Late in the evening I tried to get some order on the mess but it’s late and have to abandon as it is.
I share this as a demo/work in progress, I will finish it during next week.
It is a mess but the groove is fine.
