“Gotham’s Department of Homeless Services and Health & Hospitals each spend an average of $363 daily to provide food and shelter for just a single migrant.”

That comes out to $10,890 / month for living expenses.

To visualize:

You can live in a luxury high rise 1 Bdr at 555TEN for $4995/month. And spend $12 for breakfast, $92.50 for lunch and $92.50 for dinner.

Life is good as an immigrant.

I had a flight last Friday @ 7:30am. It was pretty crowded - long lines everywhere. I left early and took an Uber but there was an accident so it took 50 min to get there instead of 15. The line at curbside was long and slow - by the time it was my turn, they said I was 3 min past cutoff and wasn’t allowed to check in my luggage.

Take Uber. But check for traffic beforehand to avoid this mishap I experienced.

“Mayor Eric Adams is heading to El Paso, Texas this weekend to witness first hand the southern border crisis whose economic hit to the city he now says will be double the $1 billion he had projected.

“Our price tag could be anywhere from $1.5 to $2 billion. That’s the price tag that we are facing,”

What caused the the costs double? Will they be staying at the Four Seasons eating caviar and wagyu steak every day?

Who knew that immigration would be such a cash cow…

Never let a crisis go to waste.

“The agreement is between the New York City Department of Homeless Services and the Hotel Association for as much as $55,000 per migrant”

I’d gladly take 220K for two migrants to take over my apartment for a year while I use that as a down payment for a house.
