Hula is this way too. Sometimes all the stalls in one are full so you gotta go over to the dark side. Stalls are super private so no big deal but a little awkward. I think it makes more sense at a bar then a workplace

He redid my mom's ring. It came out awesome! He was really good at involving her as much as she wanted in design/concept (not much). It was fairly priced for what it is

I'm sure you interact with plenty of democrats too lol. One thing I love about Vermont is people really don't follow stereotypes.

One alternative. Close Lyndon and Johnson campuses. VSC is incredibly important but saving it will require drastic action. Closing campuses made a lot of sense imo but was very unpopular. There will have to be unpopular decisions made

Gun laws are more relaxed here and people are okay with it. You might be surprised at who has em. I think people tend to be on a slightly earlier schedule here day to day. Also stuff closes early gl if you want to eat after 8:30

Also, a note on the gear. Ski gear is expensive and there's a lot of it. Fortunately Vermonters are very frugal. Ask co-workers or friends if they have old stuff to lend/give/sell to you that's by far the best way to source intro gear at lower costs. They'll be more then happy to help get you setup and all they'll ask is you pay it forward.

Woohoo ππ I hope you have a great time. There's a pile of gear Bolton does not rent (or any ski area)
-
Invest in base layers and ski Socks. 32 degrees is a decent Amazon brand. You can also use leggings if you have them.
-
Get snow pants and decent gloves I'd recommend the outdoor gear exchange basement if you're on a budget.
-
Helmet and goggles. Bolton will rent you a helmet but you'll want to find some goggles. Most ski shops can have some cheapish pairs.
-
Jackets, you don't want a long coat or really anything that's too warm. Puffy down coats are good as are fleeces.
-
Neck gator/balaclava lots of options ask around and see what works for you
-
Water and snacks
-
if it's a cold day some hand warmers
-
Stretch before you go
-
Show up early to deal with rentals
-
Remember ski boots are not going to be comfortable (but they shouldn't be painful)

This is what's in my first aid kit Alcohol wipes A few gauze pads A few bandaids Maybe a butterfly closure Good waterproof tape Ibeprofen in a small tube Benadryl (at least 4) Key chain swiss army knife. Scissors and file are most useful Spain headlamp batteries Some duct tape Lighter Sometimes I'll add a sam splint and bigger tape if it's a longer ski/bike outing. Personally my philosophy is go as light as possible so you're more inclined to carry it.

Reply to comment by No-Ganache7168 in What do you think of Vermont population wise? Do you think itβs perfect the way it is? Too crowded? Not enough Cities? Open Discussion by Golfoneway95
I'll be curious how Morrisville turns out. Who will live in those apartments? It's pretty much out of commute range to chittenden county. That's almost Burlington pricing. I suspect developer will be unable to rent and will lower prices. As for air bnb locals need to put in place strong regulations that either cap the number or tax the crap out of it.

Winter storm Stella 2016. I had gotten my license fairly recently and convinced my mom to let me and my brother go to sugarbush. It was an absolutely epic day, Stella dumped and dumped on the spine, something like 40 inches total over 3 continuous days of snow. Anyways we're skiing in paradise and my dad who was on a business trip outside the country video calls (he must've been confused about the time bc I should've been in school). Somehow there's enough service for a video call. He's like where the hell are you, I say "paradise in a figurative and literal sense" I think he got more than a little jealous.

Ski the east makes great stuff. Some of it is more ski focused and some is less. Not actually made in Vermont unfortunately though.

Why not Montreal? Yes a bit out of state but it feels very foreign and is a great escape. Like going to Europe to honeymoon but only a 3 hour drive. Quebec city is also wonderful but a bit further and can be very very cold

Snowshoes or cross country skis. Having outdoor exercise in the winter is so important. It's very hard to learn Alpine skiing as an adult and can be pretty pricey.xc/snowshoe has much less recurring cost and is less skill dependent

Yes they probably need to do a bit more trimming but this is Vermont. Sometimes the power goes out. It's always been this way. This storm was well predicted and big. GMP has done a great job getting people back online
