I mentioned this on another thread but you can request a meter read to make sure its readings are accurate. BGE also offers energy savings assessments performed by a third-party company free of charge. BGE also recommends keeping the thermostat to 68 but everyone has different needs. Bills are high everywhere. It sucks.

OP, you can ask BGE to check your gas meter. BGE also partners with a third-party company that comes to your house and does an energy savings assessment free of charge.

Reply to Car Service to Dulles by T_Anon_
Maryland Black Car is an upscale car service. They're reliable. I've used them in the past, and they're punctual and professional. It will probably cost you more than renting a car. It's an option if you (1) can afford it, and (2) really want the most hassle-free way of getting to IAD.

This is good, thorough comment and [hopefully] in line with what OP was expecting to read.
Towson is the less suburb-y of all county towns and, in fact, it's getting more dense and urban.

Reply to What dinner restaurants do you recommend for a couple looking to spend ~$75 each on NYE? by leslienopethanks
The Tilted Row. Wife and I have been 3 times in the last month. We've had great meals each time. Their fix price NYE menu is $75/person. FYI, we made reservations each time we went (weekends); the place was full to almost-full.

The Blue Line does not go to New Carrollton; only the Orange Line. You will still need to get to Union Station. Both the Yellow and Blue lines will allow you to transfer to the Red Line, which will take you to Union Station.

We had a great meal at The Tilted Row, which has become our current favorite restaurant in the city. We've been there a few times before and their RW menu is more like face value.
