I don't know if Matchbox 20 is really as much a 90s band as it is an early 2000s band.

The peak of their success was really 99 and 2000. so they are literally on the fence.

Most of their music was in the 2000s. And they may have more of a 2000 style than classic 90s.

To me, they're more the signature music of the beginning of the millennium.

They started in the late 90s, but only started to be known at the end of 97 with Push and 3AM. Their first songs topping the charts.

Then topped the charts in 99 with "Back 2 Good" and Rob Thomas' song with Santana "Smooth".

And they continued to have big success in 2000, with "Bent" and "If you're gone".

They had a few more big hits like in 2003 with Unwell, then Rob Thomas in 2005 with "Lonely no more".
