I'm in the Seattle Metro area and had a similar experience. I was taking my infant to physical therapy a few years ago. We were headed to our car and a semi truck was parked in the valet roundabout handing out food, diapers, formula. We said no thank you, we are okay. They told us we could pull our car around and they'd load the trunk for us. They said that the cancer treatments, NICU, etc is often so expensive on families they can't afford disposable diapers or the parents will often go without essentials. In response, the county setup this mobile refrigerated grocery truck and went to where the families would be so there'd be no shame. That broke my heart.

I once dreamt I was pregnant with a baby boy and he'd be born in winter and come home in a Christmas stocking. I found out the next week I was pregnant with a boy and due Christmas, and sure enough the hospital put him in a sweet little red stocking. So maybe twins are in your future! Wishing you the best of luck for whichever outcome you'd prefer.

The article says 38% of the alleged offenders in a sting operation were military personnel. That's despicable.

I attended a military school on the base in the area. Some of my best memories are of learning indigenous history at school. Several times a month, Hawai'i Native women would come to our classroom to teach us words and phrases from the Hawaiian language and do arts and crafts with us and teach us about Kamehameha and Queen Liliuokalani. I remember they were very gentle and kind women and I looked forward to their lessons; it was really a bright spot for us.

No one deserves to be mistreated like that.
