yeah I kind of agree, you need to be able to see where you’re getting the information from, unfortunately I think just taking the ai’s answer at face value is easier for most people so it won’t matter

yeah that’s basically how all these “ai” work - what nobody’s considering with all this ai writing stuff is that they’re scraping from existing writing, if everything becomes ai writing then it’s just a cascade of machine plagiarism, at some point in the process someone has to actually acquire knowledge and expertise and form opinions to write out an argument

humanity has been significantly worse off at various points in history, we have a lot of science and tech looking at these problems and a fairly high level of global cooperation it’ll probably be alright
