Pregnancy and breastfeeding both reduce breast cancer risks.

(and because I know this will be misinterpreted, I’m just stating fact. Idgaf if you ever have kids, I’d rather most people didn’t, and I agree that abortion should be legal)

Yeah, and that isn’t even the racist part where they wouldn’t pay out brain damaged black players as much because they claimed that black players are naturally less intelligent and therefore had less capacity to lose than white players.

That only ended a few years ago because of lawsuits.

That’s the research that’s being done now. Because these substances have been illegal for decades even for research, there are still a lot of unanswered questions.

Hopefully, though. Especially since we’re getting more sure that depression doesn’t really have anything to do with serotonin and that SSRIs don’t ultimately improve overall quality of life for people with depression.

According to the CDC, 1 in 5 women will experience rape in their lifetime, and 1 in 4 women will experience “severe physical violence” from an intimate partner. (source

I’m confused about the numbers then because it’s pretty well established that people with schizophrenia are more likely to be victims of violence, but the 20.7% rate cited here is lower than the general (female) population.

I guess I’m not sure if we’re comparing apples to oranges here because this isn’t saying that most women seeking abortion have these characteristics, correct? It’s saying that women with these characteristics are more likely to have an abortion (but if they are also less likely to experience unplanned pregnancy in the first place, they might not represent the majority of abortion seekers).

In the US, anyway, the average woman who seeks an abortion is single, in her 20s, and doesn’t have a college education. Only 60% are already mothers, and only half of those have 2 or more kids. So that’s not really the same data I suppose, but it’s more relevant to the point that the person I was responding to made.

This does describe me almost perfectly, though. I only have 3 kids, but I’m married, in my 30s, have a college degree, and would be highly likely to terminate if I got pregnant (even though I didn’t when I was single and in my late teens).

I learned from QI that one of the reasons most planes are light in color is that the extra pigment in the paint to make them dark would be a significant amount of weight.
